Havelu is about 43 kilometers north-northeast of Chartres and about 45 kilometers west-southwest of Paris . Havelu is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bû in the north and west, Saint-Lubin-de-la-Haye in the north and north-east, Goussainville in the south and east and Marchezais in the south-west.
