Dampierre-sur-Avre is a French commune with 742 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Eure-et-Loir in the region Center-Val de Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Dreux and is part of the canton of Saint-Lubin-des-Joncherets (until 2015: Canton of Brezolles ).

Dampierre-sur-Avre is about 45 kilometers northwest of Chartres . Dampierre-sur-Avre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Droisy in the north, Nonancourt in the northeast, Saint-Lubin-des-Joncherets in the east, Prudemanche in the south, Bérou-la-Mulotière in the southwest and Acon in the west and northwest.
The municipality is crossed by the Avre River and its tributary Meuvette . The Route nationale 12 runs through the municipality .
