Marco Marin
Marco Marin (born July 4, 1963 in Padua ) is an Italian saber fencer , Olympic champion and world champion.
successes
Marco Marin won silver behind Hungary with the Italian saber team at the 1982 World Championships in Rome , and bronze at the 1983 in Vienna .
At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he won gold with the team and received silver in the individual, he was only defeated by the French Jean-François Lamour . In 1988 at the Olympic Games in Seoul Marin received bronze with the team, in the individual he reached the fourteenth place. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he won silver in the individual, this time beaten by the Hungarian Bence Szabó . With the team it was eighth place.
At the World Championships in Essen he won silver with the team, again only beaten by the Hungarian team, in 1995 in The Hague he was team world champion .
