Ernő Nagy (born August 2, 1898 in Făget , † December 8, 1977 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian fencer .

Life

Ernő Nagy took part in the First World War as an officer and after its end he joined the Magyar AC Budapest to fight there. He fought with both the saber and the foil. At the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 , Ernő Nagy and the Hungarian saber team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and therefore became Olympic champion together with Aladár Gerevich , Endre Kabos , Gyula Glykais , Attila Petschauer and György Piller. At national level, he was Hungarian team champion six times and in 1933 Hungarian champion with the saber. In 1938 he ended his fencing career and began to work as the head coach of the fencing section of his club.
