The Magyar Olimpiai Bizottság (MOB) is the National Olympic Committee in Hungary , based in Budapest .
history
On December 19, 1895, the committee was founded in the Hungarian capital Budapest at the instigation of Ferenc Kemény , the Hungarian founding member of the International Olympic Committee . The later education and religion minister Albert Berzeviczy became its first president, Kemény became its first general secretary. At the Olympic Games in Athens in 1896 , Hungary took part in the Olympic Games for the first time . Due to the Hungarian participation during the First World War , Hungary was prohibited from participating in the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp . At Winter Games Hungary took the first time in 1924 in Chamonix in part. In 1984 Hungary took part in the boycott of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles .
