The Olimpijski komite Slovenije (OKS) is the National Olympic Committee in Slovenia with its seat in Ljubljana . A total of 39 professional associations for Olympic sports, 32 of which are summer and seven winter sports, are members of the OKS.
history
On October 15, 1991, the National Olympic Committee in Ljubljana was founded, its first president was Janez Kocijančič . The official recognition by the IOC took place on February 5, 1992, so that the first participation in the Olympic Games took place three days later at the Olympic Winter Games with a delegation of 27 athletes. In the same year Slovenia also took part in the Summer Olympics for the first time. On June 14, 1993, the OKS became a member of the Comité international des Jeux méditerranéens and from then on also participated in the Mediterranean Games .
