history
In 1912 the committee was founded by the Union des sociétés luxembourgeoises de gymnastique and the Fédération des sociétés luxembourgeoises de sports athlétiques under the name Comité Olympique Luxembourgeois (COL). In the same year it was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). When the first statute came into effect in 1925, the committee had seven member associations.
