Paul Wilwertz

Paul Wilwertz (born April 7, 1905 in Wolz, † December 28, 1979 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourg politician of the LSAP .

In 1926 he joined the Letzebuerger Aarbechter party. From 1930 to 1932 he was President of ASSOSS . He entered the civil service and in 1938 became a close associate of the Minister of Labor, Pierre Krier . From 1945 to 1951 he was director of the Office National du Travail . In the party he was on the board of directors from 1945, from 1948 to 1949 he was vice-chairman and from 1955 to 1958 president of the LSAP. During the successes in the party, he was elected to the Chamber in 1951. In 1954 he was appointed commissaire général for economics, in 1957 State Secretary and in 1958 a member of the European Commission .

He was mayor of the City of Luxembourg from 1964 to 1969 and was deputy again in 1968 and was Vice-President of the Chamber from 1969 to 1974. He then became a member of the Council of State twice , from 1954 to 1954 and from 1960 to 1968. Paul Wilwertz died on December 28, 1979 at the age of 74.
