The Olimpijski komitet Rossii ( Russian Олимпийский комитет России , scientific transliteration Olimpijskij komitet Rossii ) is the National Olympic Committee ( NOK ) of Russia , which represents and organizes the interests of the country in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and represents the Olympic movement at the national level . Stanislav Posdnyakov has been the president of the committee since May 29, 2018 . The Olimpijski komitet Rossii was founded in 1911 and accepted into the IOC in 1912. After the establishment of the Soviet Union , the NOK was dissolved and only re-established as the Olympic Committee of the USSR in 1951 . In 1992, after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Olimpijski komitet Rossii was re-established as a representative of Russia.

After the 2016 McLaren report uncovered Russian state doping in recent years, the International Olympic Committee suspended the Russian Committee. Only unencumbered Russian athletes named Olympic Athletes from Russia ( OAR ) were allowed to take part in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games .
