Nicolas Lopez (born November 14, 1980 in Tarbes ) is a French saber fencer , Olympic champion and world champion.

Nicolas Lopez won the 1999 Junior World Championships in Keszthely with the French saber team. In 2001 he won silver with the team at the European Championships in Koblenz . In 2005 he won his first international medal in singles, bronze at the European championships in Zalaegerszeg , and at the world championships in Leipzig he won bronze with the team. In 2006 he was team world champion in Turin together with Julien Pillet , Boris Sanson and Vincent Anstett . In 2007 he won silver with the team at the World Championships in St. Petersburg and bronze at the European Championships in Ghent . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Lopez won gold with the same team as at the 2006 World Cup and won silver in singles, only defeated by the Chinese Zhong Man . In 2009 he won bronze with the team at the European Championships in Plovdiv .
