European Fencing Championships 2005

The European Fencing Championships 2005 took place from June 27th to July 3rd in the Hungarian Zalaegerszeg in the multi-purpose hall Zalaegerszegi Jégcsarnok . A total of twelve competitions were held, namely individual and team competitions for women and men in epee, foil and saber. Since third place was not fought in the individual competitions and instead both semi-finalists shared third place, there were a total of twelve gold and silver medals and 18 bronze medals to be won.

The most successful nations were Italy , Russia and Poland , who won a total of ten of the twelve gold medals to be awarded.
