Zsolt Nemcsik (born August 15, 1977 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian fencer .

Life

Zsolt Nemcsik won several bronze medals at European championships before becoming vice European champion in 2005 in Zalaegerszeg and in 2006 in Izmir with the team. With the saber team he was also world champion in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1998 and in Saint Petersburg in 2007 , at the 2001 World Championships in Nîmes and 2003 in Havana , he was runner-up with the Hungarian team. In the individual, the second place in 2006 in Turin was his best result. Nemcsik took part in three Olympic Games . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , he finished 17th in the individual and fifth with the team. Four years later in Athens he reached the final of the individual competition, which he lost to Aldo Montano just under 14:15. With the team he was again fifth. Following the games, he received the Hungarian Order of Merit in the knight class for his success . The 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing he finished 18th in the individual and seventh in the team competition.
