Volodymyr Volodymyrowytsch Lukashenko ( Ukrainian Володимир Володимирович Лукашенко ; born February 14, 1980 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Ukrainian saber fencer .
successes
Volodymyr Lukashenko was world champion in the individual world in Havana in 2003 and also won bronze in the team competition. In 2006 he secured silver with the team in Turin . He won bronze at the European Championships in the individual competition in 2002 in Moscow and silver in 2006 in Izmir . At the European Championships in Copenhagen in 2004 he took the bronze medal with the team. Lukashenko twice took part in the Olympic Games : in 2000 he was eliminated in Sydney in the second round of the individual and finished the tournament in 29th place. In the team competition he was sixth. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens he reached the quarter-finals of the individual, in which he was defeated by Wladyslaw Tretjak and thus finished fifth. With the Ukrainian team he finished sixth again.
