Nicolas Limbach (born December 29, 1985 in Eupen , Belgium ) is a German saber fencer , world champion 2009, world champion 2014 and seven-time German champion .

life and career

His greatest successes so far are the world championship title at the Junior World Championships 2005 in Linz / Austria , third place at the 2007 World Championships and in Antalya 2009 the men's saber world championship, which he won after the final against the Romanian Rareș Dumitrescu . With the silver medal at the 2011 World Cup in Catania, Limbach won his fourth World Cup precious metal in a row after bronze in 2007 in St. Petersburg, gold in 2009 in Antalya and silver in 2010 in Paris. In 2014 he became world champion in Kazan with the German national team ahead of Korea. In the course of his career he won 16 World Cups and three times the overall World Cup. Nicolas Limbach is the only German saber world champion after Felix Becker , who won the world championship in 1994.

Nicolas Limbach fought for TSV Bayer Dormagen , his sister Anna also fights there. In addition to sport, Limbach has been studying International Business Administration since March 2006 , currently at Fresenius University .
