Jean Georges Levavasseur (born June 8, 1924 in Chatou , † February 10, 1999 in Poissy ) was a French saber fencer .

successes

Jean Levavasseur was world champion singles in Monte Carlo in 1950 . With the team he secured the runner-up in the world championship in Cairo in 1949 and in Monte Carlo in 1950, and he won bronze with her in 1954 in Luxembourg . He took part in the Olympic Games twice: in 1948 he finished fifth in the team competition with the French team in London , while he was eliminated in the individual in the semi-finals. At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , however , he finished the team competition behind Hungary and Italy in third place and received the bronze medal with Jacques Lefèvre , Jean-François Tournon , Bernard Morel , Jean Laroyenne and Maurice Piot . In the individual, he did not get past the semi-finals again.
