Jakow Anufrijewitsch Rylski

Jakow Anufrijewitsch Rylski ( Russian Яков Ануфриевич Рыльский , scientific transliteration Jakov Anufrievič Ryl'skij ; born on October 25, 1928 in Alexandrowka , East Kazakhstan , Kazakh SSR ; died on December 9, 1999 in Moscow , Russia Saber ) was a Soviet emperor . He won two medals in three Olympics. Rylski was four times world champion.

Career

Jakow Rylski won his first international medal at the fencing world championships in 1955 , when he won the bronze medal behind the Hungarians and Italians with the Soviet saber team. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he was eliminated from the individual competition in the second round. In the team competition, Leonid Bogdanow , Lev Kuznetsov , Jakow Rylski, Evgeni Tscherepowski and Dawid Tyschler reached the final round and won the bronze medal behind Hungary and Poland by beating the French team.

1957 reached the Soviet team with Leonid Lejtman for Bogdanow the finals at the world championships and won silver behind the Hungarians. At the Fencing World Championships in Philadelphia in 1958 , Rylski won the individual competition before Dawid Tyschler. The Soviet team with Rylski, Tischler, Kuznetsov and Umjar Mawlichanow won silver behind the Hungarians as in the previous year. In 1959, at the World Championships in Budapest, the Polish team won ahead of the Hungarians, the Soviet team received the bronze medal. At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , Rylski finished eighth and last in the individual finals, while the Soviet team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the US team.

The fencing world championships in 1961 took place in Turin, in the individual final Rylski won ahead of the Polish Emil Ochyra . In the team competition, the Poles won ahead of the Soviet team with Umjar Mawlichanow, Nugsar Assatiani , Evgeni Tscherepowski, Valeri Tschitnji and Jakow Rylski. In 1962 in Buenos Aires the Poles won ahead of the Hungarians and the Soviet team. 1963 in Gdansk Rylski won his third world title in the individual competition, this time before the Pole Jerzy Pawłowski . The Polish team, however, won the gold medal ahead of Mawlichanow, Assiatiani, Mark Rakita , Tschitnji and Rylski. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, the Soviet team won the gold medal ahead of Italy and Poland, while the Hungarian team took fifth place after seven Olympic victories from 1928 to 1960. In the individual competition, Rylski lost the battle for the bronze medal against Mawlichanow.

At the fencing world championships in 1965 , the Soviet saber team with Mawlichanow, Assiatiani, Rakita, Rylski and Boris Melnikow won their first title before the Italians, in 1966 in Moscow they were defeated by the Hungarians. After the World Championships in his hometown, Rylski , who fought for Dynamo Moscow, ended his active career.
