Vladimir Aliwerowitsch Naslymow ( Russian Владимир Аливерович Назлымов ; born November 1, 1945 in Makhachkala , Dagestan ) is a former Soviet saber fencer and three-time Olympic champion of Tatar nationality.

In his youth he trained with the CSKA Moscow fencing team . In the Red Army he achieved the rank of colonel .

He took part in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City with the Soviet saber team and won the gold medal there. He was able to repeat this success with the team in 1976 and 1980 . 1972 in Munich he finished second with the team.

He was also very successful in the individual competitions. After finishing fourth in the individual competition in Mexico City, he won the bronze medal in Munich and silver in Montreal . In 1980 in Moscow he finished eighth.

Naslymow also took part in numerous world championships and is ten times world fencing champion.

After his active fencing career, he worked as a trainer for many years. He looked after the Soviet military fencing team from 1976 to 1990. 1991 Naslymow moved with his family to the United States and trained there, among other things, the US national team from 1994 to 1999. 1999 he went to Ohio State University , where he was a very established a successful fencing program.

In Columbus , Ohio , he founded the Fencing Alliance of Ohio fencing club .
