Jana Shemjakina
Jana Wolodymyriwna Schemjakina ( Ukrainian Яна Володимирівна Шемякіна , English Yana Shemyakina ; born January 5, 1986 in Lemberg , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian sword fencer and Olympic champion .
successes
Schemjakina was individual European champion in 2005 in Zalaegerszeg and third with the team, in 2009 she reached third place in the individual. At the Summer Universiade 2007 she won gold in both the individual and the team.
In 2008 at her first Olympic Games in Beijing , she finished 18th in the individual , in 2012 she won the gold medal in the individual competition with 9: 8 against Britta Heidemann .
In 2014, Shemjakina won bronze singles at the World Championships in Kazan .
