Rafał Jerzy Sznajder (born October 13, 1972 in Będzin , † April 13, 2014 in Plovdiv , Bulgaria ) was a Polish fencer who took part in three Olympic Games. He won a bronze medal each at the World Saber Championships in 1997 and 2001.

successes

Sznajder first took part in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and finished fourth with the team and seventh in the individual. In 1997 he won bronze in singles at the World Championships in Cape Town . In 1998 he was European team champion in Plovdiv and won bronze with the team at the World Championships in La Chaux-de-Fonds . In 1999 Sznajder won silver with the team at the World Championships in Seoul . At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , Sznajder finished seventh with the team and 22nd in the individual. In 2001 Sznajder won bronze in singles at the World Championships in Nîmes . At his third Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 , Sznajder finished fourteenth in the individual. At the European Championships in 2004 and 2005 , Sznajder won silver with the team.

In 2007 he ended his active career. He died in April 2014 after the end of the Junior World Championships in Plovdiv, where he was chairman .
