Vincenzo Pinton (born March 14, 1914 in Vicenza , † April 8, 1980 in Venice ) was an Italian saber fencer .

successes

Vincenzo Pinton was world champion with the team in Lisbon in 1947 , Cairo in 1949 and Monte Carlo in 1950 . Between 1933 and 1937 he had previously won silver with her four times, and in 1951 and 1953 he was second with her. In the individual he reached the podium twice: in 1949 he secured bronze, a year later he became vice world champion in Monte Carlo. Pinton took part in three Olympic Games . In 1936 in Berlin he finished fifth in the individual, while he and the team only had to admit defeat to Hungary in the final round and finished second. At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 , he reached the finals in the individual and team competition. In the individual he won the silver medal behind Aladár Gerevich and also with the team he was again second behind Hungary. In 1952 in Helsinki , the Italian team succeeded again in winning the silver medal behind Hungary. He finished the individual competition in seventh place.
