Renzo Nostini (born May 27, 1914 in Rome , † October 1, 2005 there ) was an Italian fencer .

successes

Renzo Nostini been with the Foil team five times World Champion : 1937 in Paris , 1938 in Piestany , 1949 in Cairo , 1950 in Monte Carlo and in 1954 in Luxembourg . He was also world champion with the saber team in Cairo in 1949 and in the foil individual in 1950 in Monte Carlo. There are also three silver medals with the foil and saber team and one more in the foil individual. With the saber he won bronze in the 1955 singles in Rome . He took part in two Olympic Games : at the 1948 Olympic Games in London he reached the final round unbeaten with the foil team, in which the Italian team won all games except against France and thus finished second. In addition to Edoardo Mangiarotti , Saverio Ragno , Manlio Di Rosa , Giorgio Pellini and his brother Giuliano Nostini , he received the silver medal. With Gastone Darè , Aldo Montano , Vincenzo Pinton , Mauro Racca , Carlo Turcato he also came second in the team competition with the saber. In 1952 he repeated this success in Helsinki with the foil team, which this time included Giancarlo Bergamini , Edoardo Mangiarotti, Giuliano Nostini, Manlio Di Rosa and Antonio Spallino . Once again, only the French team proved to be too strong.
