Mihály Fülöp (born April 10, 1936 in Budapest ; † September 26, 2006 there ) was a Hungarian foil fencer .
successes
Mihály Fülöp won at world championships , first in 1955 in Rome with the team the silver medal before he with her in 1957 in Paris was world champion. He also won the individual title. 1959 followed in Budapest a bronze medal in the team competition. He took part in the Olympic Games twice. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he reached the final round with the Hungarian team, in which they lost out against France and Italy . The battle for the bronze medal was decided by the team, which in addition to Fülöp also consisted of Endre Tilli , József Gyuricza , József Marosi , József Sákovics and Lajos Somodi , against the United States 9: 5. In the individual competition, he was eliminated in the first round. In 1960 in Rome, he was fourth and just missed another medal win with the team. In the individual, he reached the semi-finals, in which he as fourth in his group just failed to make it into the final round.
