József Marosi (born October 16, 1934 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian fencer .
Life
József Marosi was vice world champion with the foil team in Rome in 1955 , while at the same time he won bronze with the epee team. The year before he had secured bronze with the foil team in Luxembourg . He took part in the Olympic Games twice. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he reached the final round with the Hungarian foil team, in which they lost out against France and Italy . The battle for the bronze medal decided the team, which in addition to Marosi also consisted of Endre Tilli , Mihály Fülöp , József Gyuricza , József Sákovics and Lajos Somodi , against the United States 9: 5. He also made it into the final round with the epee team, which he finished in silver behind Italy together with Lajos Balthazár , Barnabás Berzsenyi , Ambrus Nagy , Béla Rerrich and József Sákovics. In 1960 in Rome he just missed another medal win as fourth with the foil team.
His sister Paula Marosi and her husband Ödön Földessy were also both Olympians. Paula Marosi was Olympic champion in the team competition with foil in 1964 , Földessy competed twice in the Olympic Games in the long jump.
