Paula Marosi-Földessy (* 3. November 1936 in Budapest as Paula Marosi ) is a former Hungarian foil fencer .

Life

Paula Marosi was world champion with the team in Buenos Aires in 1962 and took second place with her in Moscow in 1966 . She took part in two Olympic Games : At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 , she met the Soviet Union with the Hungarian team in the finals and was victorious 9: 7. Together with Lídia Dömölky-Sákovics , Katalin Juhász , Judit Ágoston-Mendelényi and Ildikó Ujlakiné-Rejtő , she became Olympic champion . In 1968 in Mexico City they moved into the team competition again in the final against the Soviet Union , which was lost 3: 9.

Her brother József Marosi was also an Olympic fencer. She was married to former long jumper Ödön Földessy , who won Olympic bronze in 1952 , until his death in June 2020 .
