Sabine Bau
Sabine Christiane Bau (born July 19, 1969 in Würzburg ) is a former German foil fencer and Olympic champion .
Life
Sabine Bau completed her Abitur in 1988 at the Matthias Grünewald High School in Tauberbischofsheim . The doctor with a doctorate also won five medals at the Olympic Games in addition to world and European runner-up titles. On November 8, 2003, she said goodbye to active competitive sport in a gala for the German Sports Aid. She supports various social institutions, for example the children's project “Auryn” for mentally ill children. She is a specialist in orthopedics with an additional qualification in sports medicine.
She belonged to a group of female fencers from Tauberbischofsheim who dominated German and international fencing for over a decade.
For winning the silver medal at the 1992 Olympic Games, she received the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993.
