Olga Evgenjewna Velitschko ( Russian Ольга Евгеньевна Величко ; born November 20, 1965 in Vladikavkaz , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian foil fencer .

successes

Olga Welitschko first won bronze with the team at the 1985 World Championships in Barcelona , before becoming world champion with them in Sofia the following year . In 1989 she won the singles title in Denver , and she was second in the team competition. In 1990 in Lyon she secured bronze in the individual and again silver with the team. In 1991 she was runner-up with the team in Budapest for the third time in a row. In 1998 she managed to win the title at the European Championships in Plovdiv with the team . In the singles she won bronze. She took part in the Olympic Games twice: at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​she played for the United Team , with whose team she just missed a medal win in fourth place. In the individual, she finished tenth. Four years later , she completed the individual competition in Atlanta in 16th place, while she was sixth with the team.

Velichko fought for CSKA Moscow . She is married to the fencer Anwar Ibragimow .
