Arianna Errigo

Arianna Errigo (born June 6, 1988 in Monza ) is an Italian fencer in the foil branch , Olympic champion and world champion.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , she won the silver medal in the women's individual foil fencing competition. In the final battle she was defeated by her compatriot Elisa Di Francisca ; Bronze went to another Italian, multiple Olympic champion Valentina Vezzali , who was defeated by Errigo in the semi-final battle. A few days later she won the gold medal in the team competition together with Di Francisca, Vezzali and the substitute fencer Ilaria Salvatori, who came on for Errigo .

At the fencing world championships in Budapest in 2013 and in Kazan in 2014 , Errigo was each world champion in the individual women's foil fencing competition. They also gained at world championships the following medals in individual 2,009 and 2,015 bronze, 2010 silver in team competitions in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015 gold, 2011 silver. In addition, she won a total of five gold medals with the team at European Championships ( 2009 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 and 2014 ) and two bronze medals in the individual (2009 and 2012).

In the 2008/2009 season, Errigo won the overall ranking of the women's foil fencing World Cup; She succeeded again in 2011/2012, 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.
