Véronique Brouquier-Reddé , née Brouquier, (born May 28, 1957 in Paris ) is a former French foil fencer and current archaeologist .

Véronique Brouquier was part of the French team at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow and 1984 in Los Angeles . In 1980 she reached the final for the gold medal, unbeaten in the team competition, in which the French team beat the Soviet Union 9: 6. Together with Isabelle Boéri-Bégard , Brigitte Latrille-Gaudin , Christine Muzio and Pascale Trinquet , she became Olympic champion . At the 1984 games, she and the team lost to Romania in the semi-finals , but secured the bronze medal against Italy in the final battle. In the individual competitions she finished 13th in 1980 and fifth in 1984.

Since 1982 she worked at the Center national de la recherche scientifique , where she was employed full-time since 1984 after completing her doctorate in 1984 at the University of Paris-Sorbonne . Her main research interests are the ancient Maghreb and Roman Gaul . Since 2012 she has been a member of the Conseil national de la recherche archéologique .

Awards

In 1984 she received the Knight's Cross of the Ordre national du Mérite , in 2011 she was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
