Ute Wessel
Ute Wessel , née Ute Kircheis , (born March 18, 1953 in Niederaußem ) is a German foil fencer who fought in the national team from 1971 to 1984. Her greatest achievement was winning the gold medal with the foil team at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles . She is a member of the Olympic Fencing Club in Bonn and still takes an active part in senior competitions, where she became German champion with the women's floret team in 2009.
