Galina Evgenjewna Gorochowa ( Russian Галина Евгеньевна Горохова ; born August 31, 1938 in Moscow ) is a former Soviet foil fencer . She won three gold medals at the Olympic Games and was world champion nine times.

In 1958 Galina Gorochowa was team world champion in Philadelphia . In 1959 she won silver at the World Championships in Budapest both in the individual foil sheet and with the team.

Galina Gorochowa made her Olympic debut at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome , where she finished fourth in the individual and won the gold medal with the team. In 1961 she was team world champion in Turin , in 1962 at the world championships in Buenos Aires it was silver in the individual and with the team, in 1963 she was again team world champion in Gdansk .

At the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo Gorochowa was again fourth in the individual. In the team competition, however, she was able to win silver. In 1965 she became both individual world champion and team world champion in Paris , and in 1966 she was again team world champion and bronze in individual in Moscow . In 1967 she won silver with the foil team at the World Championships in Montreal .

In Mexico City at the 1968 Summer Olympics , she was again Olympic champion with the team. In the individual Gorochowa was sixth. In 1969 she won silver with the foil team at the World Championships in Havana , and in 1970 in Ankara she was again individual and team world champion. In 1971 she was again team world champion in Vienna .

In the foil singles she was able to improve to third place at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich . With the team Gorochowa again won the gold medal.
