Elisabeta Guzganu (born August 8, 1964 in Bucharest as Elisabeta Tufan ) is a former Romanian foil fencer .

successes

Elisabeta Guzganu took part in three Olympic Games . In 1984 in Los Angeles she reached the singles semi-finals, which she lost to Luan Jujie . Also in the battle for bronze against Dorina Vaccaroni she was defeated. In the team competition, they made it unbeaten to the final for the gold medal, in which the Romanian team had to admit defeat to Germany 5: 9. Together with Marcela Moldovan-Zsak , Aurora Dan , Rozalia Oros and Monika Weber , she received the silver medal. Four years later in Seoul , she finished 18th in the individual. At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona she reached 21st place in the individual. In the team competition, she won bronze with Laura Badea-Cârlescu , Roxana Dumitrescu , Claudia Grigorescu and Reka Szabo . She also became world champion with the team in Athens in 1994 and won another three silver medals between 1987 and 1995.
