Diana Bianchedi
Diana Bianchedi (* 4. November 1969 in Milan ) is a former Italian foil - fencer . She won two gold medals in Olympics .
Career
Diana Bianchedi took part in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona . With the foil team she won the gold medal there. At the next games in Atlanta in 1996 , Bianchedi competed in singles and finished ninth. In Sydney at the 2000 Summer Olympics , she was able to improve by three places to sixth in the individual. With the Florret team, she was able to build on the success of eight years ago and won the gold medal for the second time.
At the World Fencing Championships in 1991, 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001 Diana Bianchedi won the gold medal with the team. In 1994 she was runner-up in the world championship with the team, in 1993 and 1989 she won bronze with her. Bianchedi was third in the world championships in 1995 and 1997.
In 2000 she was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (Commendatore).
