Barnabás Berzsenyi (born February 12, 1918 in Kemenesmihályfa , † June 18, 1993 in Osnabrück ) was a Hungarian sword fencer .

successes

Barnabás Berzsenyi was vice world champion in 1953 in Brussels in the singles and in 1957 in Paris with the team . He also took bronze with her in Rome in 1955 . He took part in the Olympic Games twice: in 1952 he finished fifth with the team in Helsinki and was eliminated from the individual competition in the second round. At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he reached the final round with the Hungarian team, which ended in second place behind Italy . Together with Lajos Balthazár , József Marosi , Ambrus Nagy , Béla Rerrich and József Sákovics , Berzsenyi received the silver medal. He was Hungarian champion five times with the epee in singles and eight times with the epee team. He won four other titles with the foil team.
