Alessio Foconi (born November 22, 1989 in Rome ) is an Italian foil fencer .

successes

Alessio Foconi won the silver medal with the team at the 2015 European Games in Baku . In the individual competition he also reached the final, in which he defeated Timur Arslanov and thus won the gold medal. At the 2017 World Championships in Leipzig , he won the title in the team competition, and he also secured bronze in the team competition at the European Championships in Tbilisi . The following year the team won the silver medal in Novi Sad at the European Championships . In addition, he was in Wuxi , both in the individual and in the team competition champion . In 2019 , he won the European championship title for the first time in Düsseldorf , while winning bronze with the team. At the World Championships in Budapest he also won bronze with the team. In 2013 and 2017 he became Italian champion.

He is a member of the Italian Air Force and fights for the Centro Sportivo dell'Aeronautica Militare .
