Édward Gardère (born February 25, 1909 in Gérardmer , † July 24, 1997 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) was a French fencer , Olympic champion and world champion.

In 1930 Gardère won silver at the International Championships in Liège behind the Italian foil team along with René Bougnol , Philippe Cattiau , Jacques Coutrot , and René Lemoine . At the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932 , Gardère received gold with the foil team from him, René Bondoux , René Bougnol, Philippe Cattiau, René Lemoine and Jean Piot . In 1934 and 1935 he won silver again with the foil team, and in 1935 also gold in the foil singles. From 1935, his brother André Gardère also fought in the team.

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , Gardère achieved silver in the foil singles and with the foil team. In 1937 at the World Championships in Paris it was twice silver again. At the World Championships in Piešťany in 1938 , he won silver with both the saber team and the foil team, as well as bronze in the foil singles.

Between 1930 and 1944 he was French foil champion ten times, this record still exists today.
