Jacques Coutrot (born April 10, 1898 in Paris , † September 17, 1965 in Mormant ) was a French fencer .

Jacques Coutrot reached the final round unbeaten with the foil team at the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 , in which the French team also won both games and took first place ahead of Belgium and Hungary . Together with Philippe Cattiau , Joseph Peroteaux , Roger Ducret , Lucien Gaudin , Henri Jobier , André Labatut and Guy de Luget , he became Olympic champion . In the individual competition, he just missed another medal win in fourth. When he took part in the Olympics for the second time in 1936 in Berlin , he again belonged to the foil team, with which he also made it to the final round. Behind Italy , he won the silver medal with René Bondoux , René Bougnol , André Gardère , Édward Gardère and René Lemoine . At world championships he secured silver with the foil team in the team competition in Liège in 1930 , before taking on the sword in this tournament from then on. By 1937 he won three silver medals with the team and in 1937 also finished second in the individual. In 1951 in Stockholm he was finally team world champion. With the foil he became French champion in 1926 and in 1939 with the sword.

After his active career, Coutrot worked as a sports official. From 1949 to 1952 he was President of the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime .
