Mousoy is an oasis in northern Chad in the southern part of the Tibesti Mountains. The place is located 21 kilometers east of Zouar, the second largest settlement of the Tibesti and also the seat of Derdé , and 19 km west of the Débasan oasis . With the administrative reorganization of Chad on 10 August 2018, the Tibesti region was divided into four instead of two departments ( Bardai , Zouar , Aouzou and Wour ), with Mousoy and Goubonne belonging to the new Zouar department . Before that Mousoy had belonged to the Tibesti-Ouest ("West-Tibesti") department.
