Cúl na Mara is a German Celtic - Folk-Rock group from Aulendorf , which emerged in 2011 from the Celtic- Punk-Band Daione .

development

In December 2012 the band made it to the final at the German Rock Pop Prize in Wiesbaden and won four prizes here. She won 2nd place with the folk-rock song Occupy , 2nd place in the Folk-Rock Band of the Year category, 2nd place in the Folk-Rock Band category and 3rd place for the best English-language CD Album of the year.

In 2014 the second album Current Tales was released , which won three first places and one third place at the “German Rock Pop Prize” in Siegen.

Extensive concerts followed in 2015. The band has been invited to international festivals, e.g. B. to Trieste (Italy) for the Triskell Festival and played here in front of 5000 people.

From 2016 to 2018 the band had numerous national appearances at historical sites, e.g. B. on the Heuneburg , and at festivals (e.g. Maritim Festival in Bremen with over 100,000 visitors in total). She presented her new program "The world is colorful", which consists of time-critical songs about flight, oppression and against racism. The portal celtic-rock.de recognized the album accordingly: "Hardly any band has probably dealt with child labor ( gold in your hands )."

The CD with the same title was released in 2018 and was again awarded three prizes at the German Rock and Pop Prize . On this album they dedicate a funny song to Roland Roth, a well-known weather expert in southern Germany.
