Brice Guyart
Brice Guyart (born March 15, 1981 in Suresnes ) is a French foil fencer , two-time Olympic champion and world champion.
Guyart started fencing at the age of four .
At the 2000 Summer Olympics , he was Olympic champion with the French foil team. Four years later at the Games in Athens he won the individual competition.
Prior to that, he had finished third in the individual at the 2001 and 2003 World Fencing Championships . As a member of the French foil team, he became team world champion in 2001 and won the silver medal at the 2002 World Cup . In 2005 he was team world champion in Leipzig , as well as at the 2007 World Cup . The team also won the 2006 European Championship in Izmir , where he also won bronze in the individual. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , Guyart finished thirteenth in the individual. In 2011 the team won silver at the European Championships in Sheffield and at the World Championships in Catania and in 2012 at the European Championships in Legnano .
His sister Astrid Guyart is also a fencer.
