Jerzy Kaczmarek
Jerzy Mieczysław Kaczmarek (born January 8, 1948 in Lubsko ) is a former Polish foil fencer and Olympic champion .
Kaczmarek was in the Polish team for the first time at the 1969 World Fencing Championships . In the line-up of Ryszard Parulski , Lech Koziejowski , Jerzy Kaczmarek, Marek Dąbrowski and Witold Woyda, the team was only defeated in the final against the Soviet team. In 1971 in Vienna Witold Woyda, Marek Dąbrowski, Jerzy Kaczmarek, Lech Koziejowski and Adam Lisewski again reached the World Cup final and this time were subject to the French team.
At the Olympic Games in Munich , the Polish team with Marek Dąbrowski, Jerzy Kaczmarek, Lech Koziejowski, Witold Woyda and Arkadiusz Godel fought through to the finals and won the gold medal there against the Soviet team. Two years later, Marek Dąbrowski, Lech Koziejowski, Jerzy Kaczmarek and Ziemowit Wojciechowski reached the finals at the 1974 World Fencing Championships in Grenoble, where they lost to the Soviet team.
