Stefano Cerioni (* 24. January 1964 in Madrid ) is a former Italian foil - fencers . He took part in all the Summer Olympics between 1984 and 1996 and was able to win two gold medals and one bronze medal.

Career

Stefano Cerioni started at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles with the foil team, with which he became Olympic champion, and in singles, where he won the bronze medal. Four years later, at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul , Cerioni was able to improve in the individual and became Olympic champion in this competition. The foil team could not repeat their success at their appearance in South Korea and finished in seventh place. In Barcelona , at the 1992 Summer Olympics , Stefano Cerioni was only seventeenth as defending champion in the individual. With the team he was able to improve by one place compared to the games four years earlier to sixth place. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta he finished eighth with the team and finished 18th in the individual.
