Just Music Festival

just music - Beyond Jazz Festival - is a jazz festival that has been taking place in Wiesbaden every year since 2005 .

Just Music started in 2000 as a monthly concert series in the FilmBühne Caligari and with a small festival in the Roncalli-Haus Wiesbaden. Later the concerts took place in the Thalhaus. An international jazz festival in Wiesbaden has emerged from this since 2005. Organized and curated by the architect and local concert organizer Raimund Knösche and the pianist Uwe Oberg , the festival takes place on two to three consecutive days at the end of February in the Kulturforum Wiesbaden . The focus is on the innovative varieties of improvised music. In the past, a. on: Peter Brötzmann , Marilyn Crispell , Digital Primitives , Eve Risser , Sebastian Gramss , Carl Ludwig Hübsch , Christian Lillinger , Heinz Sauer , Irene Schweizer , Aki Takase , Saadet Türköz . On the second day of the festival there will be an ensemble workshop in the afternoon , led by a prominent festival musician. The workshop results can then be heard in the evening program on the main stage. Just Music hosted the Hessian Jazz Podium with the award of the Hessian Jazz Prize in 2007 (to Uwe Oberg) and 2013 (to Vitold Rek ).
