Roberto Ferrari (born August 2, 1923 in Rome ) is a former Italian fencer .

successes

Roberto Ferrari was in 1950 in Monte Carlo with the saber team and in 1954 in Luxembourg with the foil team world champion . Between 1951 and 1955 he also won four silver medals in team competitions. He took part in three Olympic Games in the saber competitions: In 1952 he moved with the team into the final round, which he finished with her behind Hungary in second place and together with Gastone Darè , Renzo Nostini , Giorgio Pellini , Vincenzo Pinton and Mauro Racca won the silver medal. Four years later he was fifth in Melbourne in the team competition, while he was eliminated in the singles in the semi-finals. At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , he was eliminated with the Italian team in the semifinals against Hungary 6-9. In the battle for third place, he prevailed against the United States 9: 6 together with Wladimiro Calarese , Pierluigi Chicca , Mario Ravagnan and Giampaolo Calanchini and thus won the bronze medal.
