Mario Ravagnan (born December 18, 1930 in Padua , † December 13, 2006 in Turin ) was an Italian saber fencer .
successes
Mario Ravagnan took part in three Olympic Games : in 1956 he was fifth in the team competition in Melbourne . Four years later he was eliminated in Rome with the Italian team in the semi-finals against Hungary 6-9. In the battle for third place, he prevailed against the United States 9: 6 together with Wladimiro Calarese , Pierluigi Chicca , Roberto Ferrari and Giampaolo Calanchini and thus won the bronze medal. At the Olympic Games in 1964 , he and the team entered the battle for the gold medal, unbeaten, in which they were defeated by the Soviet team 6: 9. He received silver with Cesare Salvadori , Wladimiro Calarese, Pierluigi Chicca and Giampaolo Calanchini.
