Wladimiro Calarese (born October 3, 1930 in Messina , † August 13, 2005 in Dayton , Ohio ) was an Italian saber fencer .
successes
Wladimiro Calarese won two medals at world championships . In 1963 he secured bronze in the singles in Gdansk and won silver with the team in Paris in 1965 . He took part in three Olympic Games . 1960 in Rome he reached the final round in the individual and team competition. In the individual he won the bronze medal behind Rudolf Kárpáti and Zoltán Horváth and also with the team he took the bronze medal. In the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and 1968 inMexico City he won the silver medal with the team. In the individual competitions, he was eliminated both times in the preliminary round.
