Matteo Zennaro (born April 30, 1976 in Venice ) is a former Italian foil fencer .
successes
Matteo Zennaro was runner-up behind Serhij Holubyzkyj in Seoul in 1999 . In 2002 in Moscow he was European champion with the team and won in 2000 in Funchal and in 2004 in Copenhagen with this bronze. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , he finished eleventh in the individual competition after a loss in the round of 16 against Serhiy Holubyzkyj. Together with Gabriele Magni , Salvatore Sanzo and Daniele Crosta , he secured the bronze medal in the team competition. After an opening win against Ukraine, the Italian team lost to China in the semi-finals . The battle for bronze was won against Poland with 45:38.
In 2000 Zennaro was made a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic .
