Jelena Viktorovna Schemajewa ( Russian Елена Викторовна Жемаева ; born March 30, 1971 in Dolgoprudny , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian saber fencer who competed for Azerbaijan for many years and achieved all of her successes under its flag.

Jelena Schemajewa was in 1999 in Seoul and 2000 in Budapest in individual world champion . She also won bronze in Nîmes in 2001 and silver in Lisbon in 2002 . She won bronze three times in the team competition: 1999 in Seoul, 2002 in Lisbon and 2003 in Havana . She won another title in 1999 in Bozen at the European Championships in the individual competition. This was followed by three more bronze medals, which she won in 2000 in Funchal in singles and in 2002 in Moscow and 2003 in Bourges with the team. In her only participation in the Olympic Games in 2004, she reached the quarter-finals of the individual competition in Athens , in which she was subject to Mariel Zagunis and thus finished seventh.

Shemaeva is married to İlqar Məmmədov , who is a two-time fencing Olympic champion . The couple have two daughters.
