Leo Kissler

Leo Kissler (born January 8, 1949 in Waldsee) is a German sociologist.

Life

After studying law and sociology at the University of Würzburg , he worked as a research assistant at the Kassel University (1974–1976) and at the FernUniversität Hagen (1976–1982). After completing his habilitation in political science at the Free University of Berlin (1979), he taught from 1982 to 1993 as a professor of political sociology in the Department of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences in Hagen . Since 1993 he has been Professor of Sociology at the Philipps University in Marburg , Managing Director of the Institute for Sociology (1994/95 and 2003/04), Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Philosophy (2000–2001). He was a reviewer for the German Research Foundation, the Volkswagen Foundation and a liaison professor and member of the scientific advisory board of the Hans Böckler Foundation .
