Adam Artur Krzesiński (born September 13, 1965 in Warsaw ) is a former Polish foil fencer .

successes

Adam Krzesiński won with the team at the world championships , first in 1990 in Lyon silver and 1,993 in food and in 1995 in The Hague each bronze, before her 1998 in La Chaux-de-Fonds became world champion. He then secured bronze in the team competition in Seoul in 1999 and silver in Nîmes in 2001 . At the European Championships in 1997 he won the individual title in Gdansk and in 2001 took second place in Koblenz . With the team he became vice European champion in Plovdiv in 1998 and won another three bronze medals between 1991 and 2001. At national level, he was Polish individual champion in 1996 and 1997.

He took part in the Olympic Games three times : in 1992 he reached the semi-finals in Barcelona with the team, which Cuba won 9: 7. The battle for third place against Hungary was won by the Polish team 9: 4, so that Krzesiński together with Ryszard Sobczak , Piotr Kiełpikowski , Cezary Siess and Marian Sypniewski received the bronze medal. He finished the individual competition in 44th place. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he moved into the final with the Polish team after victories over Venezuela , Germany and Austria , in which they had to admit defeat to Russia with 40:45. Together with Ryszard Sobczak, Piotr Kiełpikowski and Jarosław Rodzewicz , he received the silver medal. He finished the individual competition on rank 27. Four years later he missed another medal win in Sydney with the team in fourth, while he was eliminated early in the individual again and finished 27th.

Krzesiński ended his career in 2002. From 2002 to 2005 he was president of a fencing club in Warsaw. Since 2005 he has been Secretary General of the Polski Komitet Olimpijski . For his sporting achievements, he received the Golden Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 1996 and the Knight's Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order in 2012 .
