Sandra Benad (born May 9, 1973 ; now Sandra Mangold ) is a German saber fencer who competed for TSG Eislingen .

She started fencing in 1981. In 1997 she switched from foil to saber and became one of the first successful ladies' sabers in Germany. Benad was multiple German champion and was successful at world and European championships. She did not take part in the Olympic Games , as saber fencing for women was not an Olympic discipline until 2004. At the 2004 Olympic Games , Susanne König was the only German saber fencer who competed instead .

Benad finished third in singles at the 2000 World Championships in Budapest. At the World Championships in 2001 she won another bronze medal with the saber team (Sandra Benad, Susanne König, Stefanie Kubissa , Doreen Häntzsch ). Until 2005 she took part in every world championship, but without winning another medal. She won the European Championships in 2001 in Koblenz with the team and came second in the individual. She also took part in the European Championships in 2000 and 1999 . At the German Championships , Benad won four gold medals each in the individual and in the team, plus she came second three times.
